Confluence Challenge is an open innovation program bringing together corporations looking for innovative solutions to industry challenges, with entrepreneurs and researchers working at the forefront of technology. The program was organized by the Architectural Aluminium Academy and I4By Design and implemented by Atlantis Consulting, Anthology Ventures and Ideasforward. Applicants were invited to propose solutions to the challenges placed by the program's corporate partners: ALUMIL, ISOMAT and KLEEMANN.
CDXi solutions, in collaboration with researchers from the M4D group of CERTH/ITI, presented 4 solutions:
- detecting and removing aluminium dross in furnaces using multimedia content, in response to a challenge posed by ALUMIL, winning the Confluence Incubation Services Award;
- estimating scrap in aluminium profile designs scheduled to enter production, in response to a challenge posed by ALUMIL, winning the Confluence Technology Innovation Award;
- optimization of product planning, transfer and tracking processes and won the Confluence Incubation Services Award, in response to a challenge posed by KLEEMANN;
- improvement and automation of the production planning process and the Bill of Materials, in response to a challenge posed by ISOMAT, winning the Confluence Incubation Services Award.
